With the generous assistance of Lake Country Power on March 7th, we were able to get up in the air to install a new microphone. Unfortunately, it did not resolve our issue despite testing the configuration in advance during a dry-run using a nearly identical PTZ camera a week prior.
After Lake Country Power had left, we had some time to look at some Hikvision documentation. We discovered that we believe we overlooked properly grounding the camera during the initial installation. This has resulted in an overwhelming 60Hz hum (What is a 60Hz hum?). 60Hz hums are common when are there grounding issues. Guitarists will be very familiar with this, apparently. We will look into properly grounding the camera during the Fall of 2016 to resolve this microphone issue. Dang it!
Here are some pictures showing this episode in the journey. Again, thank you to Lake Country Power. Lifts are very expensive to rent & were booked for months in advance. We (and the osprey!) appreciate your assistance again.
